Schedule - Ring 1 - Equitation Ring

Ring Commences 10:00am All of the equitation classes (2 -7) are to ridden in a snaffle bridle. Spurs are not allowed. Whips must not exceed 30 ins (75cm) in length. Classes 8, 9 & 10 any suitable bridle

8	Beginners Riding Club Pony Riders aged 9 years and under on the 1st January of current year Mare or Gelding 4 years and over, not to exceed 148cms Riders will be expected to jump a small fence. Not to enter class 9 The overall points winner of this class will not be eligible to enter this class in the future, even on another pony. Please enter this class in the spirit that it is intended.
9	Riding Club Pony Mare or Gelding 4 years and over, not exceeding 148cms, Riders any age, Riders will be expected to jump a small fence.
10	Riding Club Horse Mare or Gelding 4 years and over, exceeding 148cms, Riders any age, Riders will be expected to jump a small fence.
11 Q	Young Handler, P(UK) Pollyanna Home Produced Summer Championship. Handler must 14 years or under on the 1st January in the current year. 1st, 2nd and 3rd to Qualify.
12	P(UK) Ridden Competition / Potential Dressage Horse/Pony Summer Championship Competition/Dressage Horse/Pony stallion,mare or gelding,4 years old & over, any height, rider any age. Method of judging;- Horses/Ponies to enter the ring individually and will not be ridden by the judge. To be judged according to the P(uk) Performance / Competition class rules. Phase 1 Performance & Freestyle Show - 60 marks Phase 2 Conformation, Type & Suitability for Dressage - 40 marks The individual freestyle show to include the following movements in an arena no longer than 40m x 60mHalt,walk on a long,ordinary trot serpentine (2 or 3 loop serpentine acceptable), extended trot on the diagonal, canter serpentine with change of lead, extended canter on the diagonal. Not to exceed 2 mins. 1st, 2nd and 3rd to Qualify.

Open to BSPS MEMBERS and NON MEMBERS, with registered or unregistered animals.

Theses classes will be held at the April, May, June and July club shows. These are not points classes for the end of year presentation.

12e	Bright Stars IntermediatePonies 4 years old or over exceeding 148cms. Riders not to have attained their 25th birthday before 1st January in the current year
12f	Bright Stars Riding HorseHorses 4 years old and or over exceeding 148cms. Riders any age.
12g	Bright Stars HunterPonies 4 years old or over exceeding 148cms. Riders any age.

THE FINALS
The finals will be held at the B.S.P.S. Summer Championships Show. All competitors in the final will receive a Finalist ROSETTES. Placed Rosettes will be awarded to 10th place in all classes. Sashes will be awarded to all class winners. The 1st and 2nd prize winners of each class and compete for the:- “BRIGHT STARS SUPREME”
The Supreme Champion will receive a Flower Sash. The Supreme Championship will be held during the Saturday Evening Performance, in the Vauxhall Championships Hall, (Indoor Arena)

RULES AND ELIGIBILITY
1) PONIES/HORSES THAT HAVE QUALIFIED FOR THE RIHS OR HOYS IN ANY SECTION CANNOT COMPETE IN THE FINAL.
2) The Bright Stars classes are open to BSPS members and NON members riding registered or unregistered animals.
3) Animals do not require a JMB Height Certificate. Animals and riders do not need to be registered to qualify or compete at the Final.
4) Correctly secured British Standard Skull Caps/Riding Hats that meet current safety standards MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted.
5) Riders may only ride one animal in each class
6) Judges may be selected locally and do not have to be on any Judges Panel as we realise that economically it could be difficult to get a BSPS Panel Judge. We do expect that the judge selected does some knowledge and experience of judging these type of classes.
7) Any suitable bridles may be worn and handles on saddles in the Lead Rein Class are permitted. Spurs may only be worn in Riding Horse and Hunter Classes.
8) The 1st 2nd and 3rd placed ponies in each class will qualify for the final to be held at the 2011 BSPS Championships Show. QUALIFICATION CARDS WILL BE AWARDED TO THE FIRST THREE ANIMALS IN EACH CLASS
9) PRIZE MONEY may be awarded at the Shows discretion – Any prize money given will NOT be recorded on the BSPS Database.
12) All other BSPS General and Championship show Rules apply AT THE FINAL ONLY.

Novelty Class

Points will be awarded in each class which will be accumulated towards the novelty championship trophy. There will be three novelty classes, different at each show (see below) classes can be ridden or led

Entries : £ 2.00 per class for members and £ 3.00 for non members.

These classes do not count towards the overall club champship.
